Vacancy Chief Executive Officer

Main Purpose of Role

• As Chief Executive Officer (CEO) you will supervise and manage strategic and business aspects in line with the strategy and appetite.
• The candidate will be responsible for representing the insurance company locally within Belgium and across the EU whilst maintaining a close and regular day-to-day working relationship with the UK Speciality team.
• The candidate will be a prudent manager and an inspiring leader with a business mindset and the ability to see and work within the “big picture” in a variety of settings.

Key Accountabilities

• In line with Company strategy and appetite, ensure that business strategies and plans are fit for purpose within European environment and aligned with short-term and long-term objectives of the company
• Lead and motivate a high performing team within the Belgium office;
• Oversee all local operations and business activities to ensure they produce the desired results and are consistent with the overall strategy and mission;
• Enforce adherence to legal guidelines, regulations and in-house policies to maintain the company’s legality and business ethics;
• Ensure that business written is compliant with regulator guidelines/requirements, reporting as required.
• Adhere to company governance and compliance procedures to control risk;
• Review financial and non-financial reports to manage the business portfolio in line with company strategy, underwriting and financial targets;
• Act as signatory of insurance contracts and legal documents as necessary;
• Build trust relations with key partners and stakeholders;
• Analyse problematic situations and occurrences and provide solutions to ensure company stability and growth;
• Maintain a deep knowledge of the European markets and industry of the company.

Qualifications

• Relevant technical qualification;
• Educated to degree level or equivalent, University Degree preferable.

Experience

• Proven experience within insurance company or MGA company as CEO, managerial or underwriting leadership position;
• Experience in implementing company vision and objectives.
