As Senior Technical Underwriter – Casualty, you’ll be the cornerstone of our Casualty operations in Belgium. You’ll work on complex and diverse liability risks, manage broker relationships, and collaborate across borders—with the freedom to innovate and take initiative.
Your Impact
Underwrite a portfolio of moderate to highly complex Casualty risks within your authority.
Evaluate new business and renewals using advanced technical judgment, market knowledge, and creative problem-solving.
Set local pricing strategies in line with group standards and competitive realities.
Build strong, trust-based relationships with Belgian brokers—be their first call for liability solutions.
Shape and issue policy wordings tailored to local needs and regulations.
Guide and mentor junior underwriters; act as a local technical authority.
Partner with European colleagues to maintain underwriting governance, elevate technical standards, and ensure alignment across regions.
Represent the company in the local market—with credibility, clarity, and confidence.

What You Bring
Proven experience in Casualty underwriting.
Strong knowledge of Belgian insurance law, market conditions, and regulatory frameworks.
High technical competence and sound commercial judgment.
Strong negotiation and communication skills; ability to build and maintain broker relationships.
Self-driven, proactive, and able to work independently while collaborating across teams.
Experience in coaching or mentoring others is a plus.
Fluent in Dutch and French, with professional English.
