EU Chief Finance Officer (CFO)

About the role
For an international insurance group establishing a new EU entity in Brussels to serve the European MGA market, we are seeking a CFO.
In this key position, you will lead the financial set-up from the ground up and report directly to the International CFO.

Your responsibilities

• Implement the EU business strategy in collaboration with the EU Holdings Board
• Lead the full finance function: financial controls, risk management, budgeting, forecasting, treasury, and cash flow management
• Prepare and present financial reports and plans to the Board
• Manage relationships with auditors, tax advisors, banks, and other external partners
• Work closely with the headquarters, operations, and other departments
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and local regulatory requirements

Your profile

• Qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, or ACCA) with extensive European experience in commercial finance, controlling, FP&A, treasury, and tax
• Strong knowledge of technical accounting topics (UK/US GAAP)
• Experience in reinsurance (intercompany and/or external)
• Project management experience (ERP, BPO, M&A) and proven ability to build effective teams
• Strong leadership with the ability to inspire and motivate finance professionals
• Excellent communication and influencing skills, able to build lasting stakeholder relationships
• Hands-on, analytical, detail-oriented, and results-driven in a fast-growing environment
