Senior Underwriter Financial Lines

For a leading international specialty insurer with a strong European footprint, we are looking for an experienced Senior Underwriter Financial Lines (D&O / FI) to join the Antwerp office.

Your Role

As Senior Underwriter Financial Lines, you will underwrite D&O and Financial Institutions risks in line with the business plan and within your delegated authority. You will play a key role in portfolio growth, broker relationship management, and strengthening the local Financial Lines platform.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategy & Portfolio Management
• Support the development and execution of the annual underwriting plan
• Ensure alignment with risk appetite and portfolio objectives
• Contribute to portfolio reviews and performance analysis
• Bring forward ideas to improve underwriting performance and growth
• Underwrite new and renewal D&O / FI risks within your authority
• Apply reinsurance structures in line with risk tolerances
• Maintain accurate and timely system entries
• Build and maintain strong broker relationships in the Belgian market
• Ensure compliance with internal underwriting standards and regulatory requirements
• Share technical expertise and mentor less experienced colleagues where relevant

Your Profile

Significant experience in Financial Lines underwriting (D&O / FI)

Strong knowledge of the Belgian insurance market

Thorough understanding of underwriting processes and portfolio management

Strong analytical and negotiation skills

High level of commercial awareness

Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
