For an international insurance player, we are looking for an Underwriting Manager to manage and further develop a diverse portfolio of MGA partnerships and specialty insurance business across Europe.
Based in Belgium, you will be part of a strong international team, working closely with colleagues across borders.
🌍 Your Challenge
As an Underwriting Manager, you will take ownership of an international portfolio and combine technical expertise with commercial and strategic responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
🔹 Assess, analyse and underwrite complex risks in line with underwriting appetite and strategy
🔹 Actively manage the P&L of your portfolio with a focus on sustainable growth and profitability
🔹 Build and maintain strong relationships with MGA partners, brokers and clients across Europe
🔹 Identify and develop new business opportunities within the specialty insurance market
🔹 Review programmes, contracts and policy wordings while safeguarding contractual integrity
🔹 Monitor claims and portfolio performance and translate data into underwriting insights and decisions
🔹 Produce underwriting reporting and management information
🔹 Ensure governance, compliance and high-quality underwriting standards

You combine strong technical underwriting expertise with entrepreneurial spirit, commercial flair and international exposure.
What You Bring
✔ Minimum 5 years of underwriting or broking experience within the European insurance market
✔ Strong expertise within specialty or commercial insurance lines
✔ European underwriting experience is essential
✔ Experience within MGA / delegated authority / binder business is considered a strong advantage
✔ Strong analytical and financial skills
✔ Independent mindset, ownership and results orientation
✔ Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills
✔ Fluent in English, both written and spoken
✔ Integrity, accuracy and a strong sense of accountability
